SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR 

This is an exciting opportunity working for this International Service provider, this role is challenging, varied and evolving. 
The role will be a hybrid role initially with travel to the various offices throughout the UK. 
 
The successful incumbent will create and deliver the group strategy to develop capability and improve performance of key product & service providers with respect to quality, delivery, reliability, process development and cost. You will design and implement a cohesive supply chain strategy for the Group.  
 
The position will be fundamental to the success of the group procurement strategy and will interface across key areas of the business working in a concerted way to ensure Group leverages it’s global spend and capability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

 
You will assume leadership of supply chain and heavily support the principal supply chain activity in the various businesses. 
As an integral member of the Group Procurement and Supply Chain core team and Group wide Procurement Excellence Committee you will play a key role in strategy and decision making. 
Create a Global Supply Chain team to improve supplier performance and reduce cost across the Group.Improve capability in Supply Chain Planning. 
Warehousing, Logistics and Distribution footprint. 
Lead the development of the Inventory management system. 
Develop the capability of the direct teams across the Group. 
Implement a best-in-class category management approach to ensure the right supply chain strategies are in place to meet current and future business requirements. 
Enable the utilisation of standard processes to audit and approve new suppliers associated with the assigned business areas.Engage with the supply base to encourage and develop innovation. 
Ensure supply chain strategies are in line with customer expectations. Ensure a compliant supply base. Mitigation of risk in the supply chain. 
Develop an agile supply chain in order to meet the changing demands of the business. 
Support efforts to fully realise cost savings opportunities in other areas of the business. 
Hands on support to the business on key projects that need to be delivered on time and under cost. 

Education & Experience: 

 
Educated to degree level or equivalent is preferred. 
At least 10/15 years’ experience of working in a large corporate/ international environment. 
Skilled in stakeholder management both internally and externally. 
Excellent written and verbal communications. 
Experience in a successful fast moving and highly critical services business sector would be advantageous. 
Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing supply chain improvement strategy 
Experience in delivering complex projects, sizable projects. 
Proven experience of delivering continual improvement and achieving targets. 
Experience of working in a Services / Manufacturing / Engineering / Industrial environment is preferred but not essential.
