GLOBAL PROCUREMENT CATEGORY DIRECTOR
This is an exciting and growing international company where employees work directly with pharma, biopharma and consumer health companies of all sizes to advance new medicines from early development to clinical trials and to the market.
This Global Business is seeking an individual will drive and implement the Category strategies by working closely with Site Procurement teams and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
The Role:
Engage and align with internal customers/stakeholders gaining stakeholder and Leadership support to develop and implement the right Category strategies.
Understand the business requirements, external market and supplier base to build the portfolio of projects and develop Sourcing Strategies aligned to stakeholder needs.
Develop long-term pipeline of opportunities (savings, cash flow, growth, other value) based on internal and external factors.
Engage and implement tools and methodologies to optimize procurement activities associated with effective and timely implementation.
Understands external market to be able to be an effective business partner by challenging when needed specification and push for standardization.
Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain or comparable disciplines. Masters preferred, Industry certifications with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience and career advancement in procurement.
Working knowledge and experience of procurement and best-in-class practices, principles, process, tools and methodologies.
Can demonstrate the successful development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Clear knowledge and understanding of supply market, industry, and category dynamics.
A successful track record leading and managing complex negotiations.
Demonstrates strong business judgment and critical thinking to create and evaluate innovative options and uses a fact-based decision-making process to develop and implement strategies that will drive positive results and deliver value.
