SARBANES OXLEY CONSULTANT US OWNED LEISURE BUSINESS
As a result of recent growth and an acquisition, there is now the need to tighten up governance and controls for this newly acquired US business.
Reporting into the Head of Risk, with frequent contact with the Group FD and US, the role will be extremely varied, challenging and enjoyable – with significant internal progression for the right individual.
• You will support the audit department in validating management testing associated with the Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.
• Also participating in the execution of corporate audits as needed.
• And participate in the planning and execution of various audit projects and will perform more senior responsibilities when deemed necessary
Specifically:
• Performing general controls and application controls testing in support of the SOX compliance program.
• Complete testing & reporting as required in the annual SOX audit plan within assigned deadlines.
• Identify internal control deficiencies, inadequate documentation/evidence, and other irregularities.
• Keeping the Head of Audit & Risk and Group Finance Director apprised of the testing status and escalate exceptions/key issues for review.
• Perform financial and operational audits in accordance with internal audit professional standards.
• Present findings to management both verbally and in writing that clearly communicate deficiencies noted and recommend appropriate corrective actions for improvement.
• Interact with the external auditors to assist in execution of the annual audit procedures as required.
• Work with stakeholders to identify solutions and improvements to control environment and business processes where deficiencies have been identified
Skills and background:
• The role would suit a part or recently qualified individual.
• Previous audit experience and exposure to Sox / working with a US owned business
• The ability to visit the Head Office occasionally in East Sussex
