MASTER DATA MANAGER - UK SERVICES PLC 

The role reports to the Shared Services Performance Director with the main objectives of the role being to ensure the accuracy and integrity of underlying master data in the financial and associated systems; and to manage and oversee the master data team. Ensuring that all data requirements are met, processes are efficient, and a robust, compliant master data and reporting controls environment is maintained. 
Specifically: 
Ensure quality and accuracy of Finance master data in key systems, ensuring supporting processes and documentation are maintained. 
Maintain accuracy and integrity of data between primary financial reporting systems and supporting systems including CAFM’s. 
Oversee the updating and maintenance of customers, vendors and hierarchy master data across multiple systems. 
Support the Finance Shared Service wider team in resolving issues and queries related to Finance reference data and transactional data. 
Engage with other departments (e.g. Procurement, IT) and external stakeholders (e.g. customers, vendors) to ensure data alignment and integrity. 
Through root cause analysis and best practice knowledge, proactively identify areas for continuous improvement, automation of FSSC data processing and streamlining of reporting. 
Work closely with Group Finance, business units, retained finance shared services and outsourced providers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of master data requirements 
Ensure a robust control environment and monitor the operating effectiveness of relevant internal controls across all master data processes. 
The role will need to ensure that the relevant systems, processes and communications are followed, and are updated where required to ensure a robust control environment is maintained and escalations minimised. 
Manage workload of the team, ensuring work is of a high standard, accurate and timely, and addresses the needs of the end user. 
Lead the master data team and embed a high performance culture through effective performance management. 
Represent the Master Data Team on cross functional projects ensuring a cooperative environment is maintained and that results are delivered in line with agreed goals and objectives. 
 
Person Specification: 
High proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. 
Solid understanding of risk and control best practice. 
Ability to think ahead and identify new and innovative approaches to business challenges. 
Ability to work under demanding deadlines in a fast paced environment, and perform well under pressure. 
Organised and efficient with the ability to prioritise workloads and methodical approach to delivery. 
Keen to challenge the status quo, with a drive for continuous improvement and the ability to implement change. 
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage several deliverables within strict deadlines and to meet agreed SLA’s. 
Flexibility to successfully adapt to changing demands and conditions. 
 
Experience: 
Experience of SAP and MS Dynamics AX 2012 and/or other ERP systems. 
Strong knowledge of Finance processes and key regulation across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting. 
Knowledge and experience of data quality criteria and maintenance. 
Experience of working within a financial reporting role in a large complex organisation. 
Demonstrable experience of ability to work to tight deadlines, be driven to success, an enthusiastic team player and have sounds working knowledge of accounting processes.
