GROUP ACCOUNTANT
Global FTSE 250 PLC
This is an International Global Retailer that operates across 1000s of sites throughout the world.
The Group Accountant will help manage, the Year end & Interim Results and to manage production of year end and interim Group financial statements to meet external statutory reporting requirements, including the Annual report.
You will act as a key point of contact for external auditors and have exposure to numerous stakeholders throughout the business (inc CFO).
• Responsibility for production of accurate and timely Group Management accounts pack - including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow, commentary and variance analysis for presentation to the Board.
• Responsibility for production of UK subsidiary statutory accounts.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
• Involvement in ad hoc projects, to support both Group finance and business unit finance teams (recent projects have included adoption of IFRS 16, acquisition of US businesses)
• Support the Head of Financial Reporting and Group FP&A team with technical accounting areas, such as pensions, IFRS 16, impairment etc.
• Provide ad hoc technical accounting guidance to the divisional finance teams.
Your experience should be
• 5+ years PQE
• Experience of listed company reporting and Group consolidation (multi-currency an advantage).
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritise effectively, efficiently and most importantly achieve tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK statutory accounts and relevant disclosure requirements, including understanding of IFRS 16.
• Confident engaging communicator, who is able to build relationships and present financial information clearly, confidently and concisely.
The successful candidate should be comfortable with a fast-paced and dynamic environment, effectively manage multiple competing priorities with significant autonomy, and demonstrate high-quality judgment.
